The mechanism used to transfer briefcase files is also used to transfer commands to be executed in the remote vault.
A remote command does not require the remote vault to be online. Instead, the command to be executed is first queued in a table (GCFCommands) in the local vault. The queued commands in this table are processed by the Meridian Enterprise export processor and written to a text file that is transferred to the remote site together with the briefcases. At the remote site, the Meridian Enterprise import processor reads the commands and executes them in the destination vault.
For more information about remote commands an example, see Executing remote script functions.
